Environmental Authorisation for the Route Determination of the Proposed Metro Boulevard

Arcus GIBB (Pty) Ltd was appointed as the independent environmental assessment practitioner by the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the route determination of the proposed Metro Boulevard.  Route determination seeks to determine the boundaries (road reserve) of a proposed road and precedes proclamation and gazetting of that reserve to prevent any other development activities from taking place within the reserve. The proposed route alignment extends from JG Strijdom Road in Weltervreden Park to Fairway Street in Zonnehoeve. The proposed road is to be 2 lanes in either direction and approximately 12 km in length and 40 m in width.
