Notice is hereby given, in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations published in Government Notices (GN) 544, 545 and 546 of 02 August 2010 and in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (Act no. 107 of 1998) that SAGIT Energy Ventures proposes to construct and operate a wind farm and associated infrastructure generating between 45 - 110 MW of electricity. The site (approximately 4,072 hectares) lies between Botrivier and Caledon in the Western Cape.  The development will include one 132 kV overhead powerline, approximately 9 – 10 km long, running from the wind farm to the Houhoek sub-station south of Botrivier.

 

In order to comply with the necessary environmental regulations, SAGIT Energy Ventures has appointed GIBB (Pty) Ltd as the Independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP), to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process.  This webpage has been developed to provide the public with access to compiled documents regarding the Langhoogte Windfarm EIA.
