PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF A UMDLOTI TRUNK WASTEWATER PIPELINE, UMDLOTI, DURBAN: ENVIRONMENTAL BASIC ASSESSMENT
The Dube TradePort proposes to install a 500mm diameter trunk wastewater pipe of approximately 1.3km in length, extending from the Support Zone at Dube TradePort to the proposed new uMdloti Wastewater Treatment Works in uMdloti, Durban. The pipeline is intended to service the Support Zone and Mount Moreland residential community and will accommodate flows under gravity from the Dube TradePort and potential flows from the surrounding developable area.
Arcus GIBB (Pty) Ltd has been appointed as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner to compile the application for environmental authorisation for the proposed uMdloti Wastewater Pipeline and undertake the required Environmental Basic Assessment (BA) Process, in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 and Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations GNR 385 and GNR 386, as amended, for Activities 1(k), 1(m) and 4 as listed in GNR 386.
